The IS215UCVGM01A is a GE board component made as part of the Mark VI system. This was one of the last Speedtronic systems released by GE for steam or gas turbine management. The MKVI includes both software limit checking and hardware limit checking. TheIS215UCVGM01A is a single-slot UCV controller.There are five controller versions used by the Mark VI system.The IS215UCVGM01A does not need a backplane upgrade to be used as a replacement for previous controller versions.As a UCV controller, the IS215UCVGM01A operates the turbine code. This board mounts in the control module. TheIS215UCVGM01A is pre-loaded with software specific to its end use (gas/steam/land-marine aeroderivative/balance of plant products.)The board uses an Intel Ultra Low Voltage Celeron 650 MHz processor with 128 MB of flash memory and 128 MB of SDRAM. External data is transferred to/from the control system database over the VME bus via the VCMI board. The front faceplate of theIS215UCVGM01A includes a number of built-in components.This includes a monitor port, a reset switch, a mouse or keyboard port, two COM ports, two LAN ports for ethernet capability, two USB connectors, and four LEDs for status updates.There is a large opening in the front panel to allow for the addition of an auxiliary board. TheIS215UCVGM01A is populated by a number of resistors, capacitors, and integrated chips, as well as inductor coils.There are multiple switches located on the board surface. Switch settings can be found using manufacturer publications for reference.The board has one backplane connector and several vertical connectors for the connection of auxiliary boards. Two standoffs are attached to the board surface to support the addition of an auxiliary board.The IS215UCVGM01A contains a Type 1 Lithium battery that should be replaced only with an equivalent battery type. This battery is rated 3.3 V, 200 mA. Factory setting of the battery is in the disabled position.The SW10 should be set to the closed position to enable the battery.
