Description

The DS3810MMAB is a PCB component created by GE for the Mark IV series. This series, which is designed to manage gas and steam turbines, uses multiple microcomputers to distribute control functions of the turbine across several platforms. These continuously running backups monitor the performance of the turbine system and keep it running even if one system experiences an electronics issue. The MKIV is built with an improved operator interface with better application flexibility and experiences a decreased turbine outage rate when compared to GE’s earlier Speedtronic systems.

The DS3810MMAB has four small auxiliary boards mounted to its surface. These boards, which are marked either 304A8483G9 or 304A8483G5, connect to the primary board by thirteen board-to-board pins. Each of these auxiliary boards sits within a marked-off area on the motherboard labeled a ‘quad.’ There is are Quads A/B/C/D. Each quad also includes six jumper switches and one resistor network array.

The DS3810MMAB has twenty-six jumpers (including those mentioned above.) There are nine resistor network arrays on the board. Resistor networks arrays are sometimes used for voltage division. The board is built with one toggle switch and one red LED. It is also important to mention the Jumper/hex base chart placed at the bottom of the board which gives information on jumper position.

The DS3810MMAB has one 218A4553-1 A/mp 533002-1 mating connector. This connector is designed to allow the DS3810MMAB to communicate with other PCBs.

The DS3810MMAB is built with thirty-nine integrated circuits, including electrically erasable PROMs, octal buffers, and oscillating chips.

GE provided all technical support for the DS3810MMAB, including publications like manuals and data sheets.
