The DS3800XTBA1 is part of the Speedtronic Mark IV turbine series by General Electric.The DS3800XTBA1 is a small circuit board used to control steam and gas turbines. The gas and steam turbines are a fast way to provide energy and flexible fuel. A gas turbine builds pressure by using a combination of air and fuel in an internal combustion engine to create a mixture of gases to turn the turbine blades. A steam turbine uses a large boiler which is filled with water. The boiler is then heated to create large amounts of steam which then turns the turbine's blades. The energy produced by the spinning turbine blades is then harnessed for other purposes. The DS3800XTBA1 has ten sets of Jumper Ports. Jumper Ports come with plastic covers that cover up some of the pins to direct the energy where the worker would like it to go. The DS3800XTBA1 has three male terminal ports. One has a black casing around the metal pins, one has a white backing to the pins and the last male port is just the metal pins. The DS3800XTBA1 has one large female terminal port with twelve gold ports. The DS3800XTBA1 has two large black resistors and over ten small light blue resistors. The resistor has up to five colored bands around it that go with a code to indicate how much energy the resistor can withhold. The DS3800XTBA1 has one large orange capacitor and one large orange circular capacitor. Capacitors create electronic fields that hold energy for the DS3800XTBA1 to use at another time.
