Description

The DS3800XAIA is a PCB (printed circuit board). This device was created by General Electric (GE) for the MKIV system, also known as Mark IV. The Mark IV system is one in a series of Mark systems. These systems are tasked with controlling and regulating both gas and steam turbines. Protecting the turbine system from any damage due to unsafe conditions is another responsibility of the Mark series.

The DS3800XAIA board contains a variety of different components. Positioned along one of the edges of the DS3800XAIA are eleven (11) large components. Of these eleven components, seven (7) made with black plastic. Grey metal is what makes up the other four (4) components. The label ATB is marked next to every one of the large components. The DS3800XAIA features eleven (11) connector ports on the opposite side. These connector ports are black and small in size. Each port contains twenty (20) “male” connector pins. Situated between each connector port is a test point. There are thirteen (13) test points in total. Each test point is made of metal and each is marked with the label TP, from TP1 through TP13. Two (2) other connector ports are positioned on the adjacent edge. Nineteen (19) jumper pins can be found next to these two ports. The DS3800XAIA features a jumper which can be used to connect adjacent jumper pins. The functions of the DS3800XAIA may be altered by doing this. The DS3800XAIA also contains many small diodes, capacitors, and resistors. Some of these small components are solid colored and others are banded in different colors.
