Description
The DS3800NTSA1B1A is a printed circuit board or PCB created by GE for the Mark IV series. This series is the replacement for GE’s MKI/MKII, which has improved startup and temperature control, control sequencing, power supply, GT protection, and speed control. Some of the improvements in this system over GE’s earlier Speedtronic systems include enhanced flexibility and operator interface, a decreased GT outage rate, and overall improved reliability.
The DS3800NTSA1B1A is a scanner board for the MKIV system. The board is factory-drilled at all corners and alignment marked. Two extractor clips have been added to the right corners. These nylon clips operate as both a leverage point as the board is extracted and as a handle when the board is installed.
The largest components on the DS3800NTSA1B1A are the two lines of CP Clare (mercury wetted) contact relays.There are 12 in all, and they are marked HGS2x 5040 218A4826 1. Mercury wetted relays switch signals of one volt or less. The mercury reduces the contact resistance and associated voltage drop. These relays eliminate contact bounce in high-speed applications. One board stiffener crosses the two parallel lines of relays.
The DS3800NTSA1B1A has four potentiometers, twelve transistors, and one jumper switch.Capacitors are made of polyester film, ceramic, as well as other material. The board uses both metal film and carbon composite resistors.
The DS3800NTSA1B1A has two 218A4637-P2 connectors along one edge. It has one A-mp 27791-1 7733 218A4683-001 connector on the opposite edge. The board is built with nine integrated circuits.
