Description
The DS3800NTCD1 is a printed circuit board (or PCB) manufactured by GE for the Mark IV series. This series improves upon GE’s earlier MKI and MKII gas and steam turbine management systems with two-out-of-three voting redundancies on most protection parameters and critical controls. The management system includes monitoring of predefined limits that will set off an alarm to the operator. The protection system takes care of items such as over-speed protection, vibration protection, combustion monitoring, and flame detection.
The DS3800NTCD1 functions as a thermocouple card. The board has eight circuits placed on the board, as well as two mating connectors designed to communicate with other PCBs. These connectors are placed on either short edge of the board. One is a 40-pin female connector and one is a 17-pin right-angled male connector.
The DS3800NTCD1 is built with five jumper switches, two TP test points, one resistor network array and four potentiometers.Resistor network arrays, like potentiometers, may be used for voltage division.
The DS3800NTCD1 has many capacitors of various material. The board has one line of thirty-two 200V polyester vinyl capacitors. It also has two lines of other capacitors marked 47K 10VDC. The board makes use of both ceramic-covered metal film and carbon composite resistors.
The DS3800NTCD1 is factory-drilled and alignment marked. Extractor/inserter clips are installed on the right side. Nylon extractor clips may protect components and wiring by giving technicians a handle to manipulate the board with.
Technical support for the DS3800NTCD1 was provided by the original equipment manufacturer. General Electric was also responsible for the publication of all manuals and datasheets.
