Description
The DS3800NTBD1 is manufactured by GE as a component for the Mark IV series. This series manages steam/gas turbines, and has triple-redundant backups on protection parameters and critical controls, thus allowing the system to switch control as needed, which diminishes downtime caused by electronics failure.
The DS3800NTBD1 functions as a termination module for the DS3820STMA board. Termination modules connect field wiring to Input/Output cards and are usually DIN rail mounted. These cards may be analog, digital, or special function.
The DS3800NTBD1 is a smaller card with factory drilling and several locations ready for DIN rail screw mounts. It also has two screw mounts positioned between the PCB mating connectors. The DS3800NTBD1 is marked with the codes NTBD 6FA05 and NTBD 6DA05.
The DS3800NTBD1 has spare PTH (plated through holes) located near one corner of the board. It has twelve metal film resistors of one value that run in a parallel line along one board edge. It is worth noting these components don’t run in sequential order, but instead have R2 and R3 reversed.
The DS3800NTBD1 includes three mating connectors. The PCB connectors are all marked as if they are jumper switches (J1 through J3,) and include two 37-pin connectors and one 38-pin. J1 and J2 both have screw mounts at either end and are both 37-pin connectors. One is male and one is female.
The DS3800NTBD1 is built with twelve jumper switches. All are labeled but begin at J4. Each jumper may be set to O or to T. The jumper switches are set out on the board in four lines of three switches, with each line labeled as follows: row one (J4 through J6) RST, row two (J7 through J9) ABD2, row three (J10 through J12) ABD5, row four (J13 through J15) PAR.
GE provided all technical support for the DS3800NTBD1 and other Mark IV components, including materials like manuals and data sheets.
