Description
The DS3800NRTA1A1A is a General Electric PCB manufactured as a component for the Mark IV steam/gas management system. The MKIV replaced GE’s earlier Speedtronic systems (the MKI and MKII) in 1982 with significant improvements, including the introduction of integrated platforms run by microprocessors. These platforms monitor the turbine system for issues like high pressure, fire, loss of flame, and vibration, and determine what changes need to be made to keep the system running at an optimal level. Compared to earlier Speedtronic systems, the MKIV has a significantly lower turbine outage rate.
The DS3800NRTA1A1A is built with twenty-six integrated circuits located on its surface. The board has one jumper switch and fourteen potentiometers. The potentiometers are trim potentiometers. Jumpers allow for some customization of the board as they can finish off circuits as the user decides. The board has eight transistors.
The DS3800NRTA1A1A has one right-angled female PCB mating connector. This is marked 218A4553-1 AMP 102041-1. The DS3800NRTA1A1A also has one 13-pin right-angled male mating connector.
The DS3800NRTA1A1A has been built with both metal film resistors and CCR, or carbon composite resistors. It has several lines of fixed vacuum capacitors. The board also uses aluminum electrolytic and polyester vinyl capacitors.
The DS3800NRTA1A1A has been marked for alignment and factory drilled. Extractor clips have been added to two corners. These clips benefit technicians when they are handling the board, as they give them an optional handle--thus protecting components and circuitry--as well as adding a lever point to the board for extraction purposes.
General Electric provided all technical support for MKIV components, including the DS3800NRTA1A1A.
