Description

The DS3800NPCS1 was designed by General Electric as a part of the Mark IV series. Mark IV is one of the Speedtronic Mark systems. These systems have been developed since the creation of the first Mark I model in the late 1960s. The DS3800NPCS1 is a PCB or printed circuit board. This device is what is called a field executor snubber module.

Four large silver capacitors are featured on the DS3800NPCS1. The capacitors are lying horizontal on top of the printed circuit board. Each capacitor is designated with the initial C. Four large black resistors sit between the capacitors that are designated with the initial R. Close to the middle of the DS3800NPCS1 there are four round metal oxide varistors, also known as MOVs, which are red in color. The devices are marked with the initials MOV, as MOV1-MOV4. Several small resistors are positioned toward the bottom of the DS3800NPCS1. The resistors are also solid and light-blue in color. The other resistors on the DS3800NPCS1 are striped in bands of varying colors. Four silver capacitors which are rectangular in shape are also positioned close to the middle of the DS3800NPCS1 board. Also located around the circuit board is a series of jumper pins. Two blue jumpers which the operator can use to adjust the functions of the DS3800NPCS1 can also be found on the circuit board. The DS3800NPCS1 features four (4) SUSs, also known as silicon unilateral switches. A silicon unilateral switch (SUS) is a form of a transistor.

The DS3800NPCS1 is always shipped in an anti-static bag. This packaging eliminates all static energy which may accumulate during shipping, which protects the user from the risk of static shock.
