Description
The DS3800NPCM1B1B is a device which is called an analog exciter card. The DS3800NPCM1B1B is a type of PCB (printed circuit board). The DS3800NPCM1B1B was created by General Electric (GE). The DS3800NPCM1B1B was designed to be a part of the Speedtronic Mark IV, or MKIV system. The MKIV was designed to automate the processes of gas and steam industrial turbines. Mark IV also prevents the turbine from the potential damages of operating under hazardous conditions. The DS3800NPCM1B1B is what is known as a daughter card, or a small circuit card which can be mounted on to the surface of a bigger circuit board. This expands the functions of the larger device allows the user to have more options.
The DS3800NPCM1B1B is a small device and does not feature many components. The DS3800NPCM1B1B primarily features four (4) black resistors which are large in size. Every resistor is mounted to the DS3800NPCM1B1B with wires, with one (1) wire on each end. These resistors are placed on top of white plastic at both ends which holds the resistors elevated up away from the surface of the board. Two (2) metal oxide varistors (MOVs), are also found on the DS3800NPCM1B1B. These MOVs are red in color and circular. The last type of device found on the DS3800NPCM1B1B is a series of several metal jumpers. Altogether there are five (5) jumpers. Every one of the jumpers is identified with the letter J. These are marked as J1 through J5.
