Description
The DS3800NOCA1 is a PCB manufactured by GE as part of their Mark IV series. This series was developed to manage steam and gas turbine systems. By decreasing downtime caused by electronics failure and automating procedures like start-up and cool down, the Mark IV system increases the management efficiency of turbine control.
The DS3800NOCA1 is designed to act as an overcurrent overload board. It can also accept an optional auxiliary board (DS3800DOCA.) If the auxiliary is installed the motherboard gains access to its four potentiometers as well as several quick-connect screw mounts. The DS3800DOCA is supported by four nylon pins and held in place by a line of board-to-board connection pins.
The DS3800NOCA1 has six LEDs placed in its lower right corner. It has one toggle switch (marked ‘RST,’) and five TP test points. The board also has one Augat connector. This connector is a 28-pin female connector. There is also one right-angled mating connector along the left edge of the board. This is marked 218A4553-1 AMP 102041-1.
Extractor clips are installed in each right corner of the board. These clips help technicians insert or extract the board from locations with little working room without the need to touch the board and possibly damage the circuitry. The board is drilled in each corner for mounting and has been marked for alignment.
The DS3800NOCA1 is built with dual operational amplifiers, hex inverting gates, and quad 2-input positive-nand buffers. Small fixed vacuum, ceramic and larger metalized polycarbonate capacitors populate the board.
