GE manufactured the DS3800NOAA1 as an operational amplifier board. This PCB fits into their Mark IV system, which was created for steam/gas turbine management. The Mark IV can automate some processes such as cool down and shut down for increased efficiency. It can also monitor fuel, water, and air emissions.

The DS3800NOAA1 is built with extractor clips in each corner to assist with insertion and extraction from tight locations. Extractors give technicians a lever point or a handle, which allows them to keep their hands off the circuitry of the board during installation. Each corner is factory-drilled. The upper edge is marked for alignment.

The DS3800NOAA1 accepts daughter board DS3800DOAA.When this auxiliary is attached DS3800NOAA1 has access to the smaller board’s six potentiometers and multiple quick-connect screw mounts. The boards are connected together via twenty-nine board-to-board pins, which also aid in keeping the auxiliary in place.

The DS3800NOAA1 can communicate with other PCBs via one PCB mating connector located along its left edge. This is marked 218A4553-A/mp 102041.

The DS3800NOAA1 has 13 test points, one amber LED, six integrated circuits including dual operational amplifiers and low power low offset voltage quad comparators, one transistor, and many metal film and carbon composite resistors. It has capacitors of varying size and capacitance made of ceramic or polyester film.

All publications for the DS3800NOAA1 regarding technical support issues, such as datasheets and manuals, were provided by GE. GE, as the original manufacturer, was responsible for all tech support for Mark IV components.
