Description
The DS3800NMEC1J1J is a printed circuit board (PCB) from GE designed as a component for the Mark IV series. The Mark IV manages gas and steam turbine systems with greater efficiency due to automated processes like start up and shut down. The Mark IV is also designed to limit downtime caused by electronics failure by connecting integrated chipsets with overlapping responsibilities on all critical controls and protection parameters.
The DS3800NMEC1J1J is designed to function as a motor exciter control board. It is a larger board with many components. The DS3800NMEC1J1J has several nylon pins inserted at points along its edge. These pins are designed as spacers between the DS3800NMEC1J1J and other PCBs that may connect to it. In order to communicate with other PCBs, the DS3800NMEC1J1J has five PCB mating connectors, including two vertical pin connectors placed toward the center of the board. These are labeled DA and DB. The board also has three right-angled pin connectors along the right edge. These are marked 218A4637P2 8749 and are labeled JE, JA, and JH. There is also one right-angled 6-pin header that is labeled JP.
The DS3800NMEC1J1J is built with ten transistors, seventeen test points, and two jumper switches. One jumper can be set at J32 or at J33. The other can be set to in or out.
Capacitors on the DS3800NMEC1J1J include small ceramic capacitors, metalized polycarbonate, and polyester film capacitors, including a .50 +/-10% 200V 708A1 capacitor. Most resistors on the board are ceramic covered metal film.
The DS3800NMEC1J1J is built with various circuits, including Quad 741 Op Amps with low input offset current, offset voltage and bias current, triple 3-input positive-nand gates, and 4-bit D latches which are used as temporary storage for binary information between processing units and I/O (input/output) or indicator units.
