Description
The DS3800NHVD, which was developed by GE as a high voltage card, is a component for their Mark IV series. This series, which is used for steam/gas turbine management, can be used to automate certain processes for more consistent control (startup, shutdown, cool down.) It can also be used for air, fuel, and water emissions monitoring.
The DS3800NHVD has been milled with three oval cutouts. These are placed parallel to each other. The board is also drilled in sixteen locations along its edge. It is marked for alignment along one edge.
The DS3800NHVD has one multi-pin (vertical) male connector and three 4-pin headers.The headers are placed along the board's top edge.
The DS3800NHVD is built with three transformers (218A4499 P2 C1,) three red LEDs, and two connector points.
Resistors on the DS3800NHVD tend to be carbon composite wire wound, but some ceramic covered metal film resistors are used. The most notable of the CCR resistors would be the six CGN-33 52 Ω 5% 20W Ni 1350W placed along the bottom half of the board. These are interspersed with Sprague paper in oil 196P104910 capacitors, which are attached to the board using screw-mounted clamps. The board also uses smaller capacitors and resistors.
It is worth noting the DS3800NHVD utilizes surface wiring in three locations. Intertwined black and white wires connect PTH labeled "1Wht" "2Wht" "1Blk" "2Blk" etc.
All technical support for the DS3800NHVD--including datasheets and manuals--was provided by GE. These publications can be used for reference material for installation and maintenance of this equipment.
