GE developed the DS3800NGRD1E1D as an I/O Data Slave board for their Mark IV system.The Mark IV, which was created for steam/gas turbine management, can automate some processes for improved efficiency, including cooldown and shutdown procedures. It can also monitor air, fuel, or water emissions.

Alignment marking has been added to the top edge of the DS3800NGRD1E1D, and it has been drilled for mounting in all four corners. Four right-angle mating connectors populate the left and right edge, one 218A4637P6 and one 218A4637P4 connector on each side. The P6 connector on the left is marked DB, the one on the right JH. The P4 connector on the left is marked DA, and the one on the right is marked JA. There is one TP test point attached to the board, but it is important to note this is labeled “TP30.” It is also marked “VRR.”

The DS3800NGRD1E1D is populated with many capacitors and resistors of differing values. Resistors are both ceramic-covered metal film and of carbon composite wire wound. Larger capacitors on the board (.33 +/- 5% M/e 200V, plus several 80V) are made of polyester film.

Thirty-one integrated circuits populate the board.This includes LM148 low-power quad amplifiers, which have Class AB output stage with no crossover distortion and have input and output overload protection, It also includes Quad 741 operational amplifiers which also have overload protection for inputs and outputs.
