Description
The DS3800NFIB is a circuit board made by General Electric. This board is a part of the Speedtronic Mark IV series. Mark IV is a system which was made for the automation of both gas and steam turbines. The Mark series have relied on to operate turbines since the first Mark I system was created in 1968.
Technology which has been in development since the 1940s was used in the Mark IV. The Mark IV control system was created to fulfill all requirements of turbine controls. Gas and liquid fuels are controlled according to the turbine’s speed and load control requirements. Temperature and water and steam injection are controlled by the Mark IV. The Mark IV also regulates automated startup, shutdown, and cooldown. The Mark IV features a system of diagnostics which is used for troubleshooting. Fuel, air, and emissions are controlled by the Speedtronic system. This system is also in charge of sequencing fuel and monitoring all turbine functions.
The DS3800NFIB is a fan loss circuit board. By using a fan loss circuit, turbine systems are protected from overheating.Contacts which are normally closed open in the event that the power unit fan fails. If there is a fan loss, the thermostat contacts in a drive stop circuit will stop the drive’s operation. Doing this prevents operating under load without a fan providing needed forced air cooling, which could damage the power unit components.
General Electric (GE) originally provided manuals, datasheets, and technical support for the DS3800NFIB. If any troubleshooting is needed, General Electric should be contacted.
