Description

The GE Memory Expander Board DS3800HXPA1E1D is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Memory Expander Board DS3800HXPA1E1D also is populated with 3 40-pin connectors between the retention levers. The board is also populated with multiple electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules and 1 amber indicator LED.

The amber indicator LED is lit when the GE Memory Expander Board DS3800HXPA1E1D is first powered on. It is on for a 3 seconds so that a technician can verify that the LEDs is operational. It then remains off during normal processing. The LED is lit if a warning is issued for the board. That is, if the signals that are received by the board are out of sequence or are otherwise unreadable, the amber LED is on. This can occur if the signals are interrupted or if a temporary condition interferes with the processing.

If that happens, it might resolve the issue if the processing is temporarily suspended. This gives the signals an opportunity to restart and restore the signal sequence.

1 40-pin connector is equipped with retention screws. The screws hold the ribbon cable connector against the connector on the board. To use the retention screws, press the ribbon cable connector into place. Then insert the screws and turn them to secure the connection. To remove the ribbon cable, first loosen and remove the retention screws. Make sure all the ribbon cables are routed so that the air vents are not blocked by the cables. This maintains proper air flow.
