Description
General Electric created the DS3800HXMA1G1G PCB (printed circuit board) as part of the Mark IV system. The Mark IV is designed to control all aspects of a gas turbine or a steam turbine and to protect the system from unsafe operating conditions such as over-speed and over-temperature. The DS3800HXMA1G1G is made to act as an expander card module within the system. It has the following specifications:
-
It is factory drilled. All four corners of the board have been drilled to give the user mounting options. Clips have been installed in two of these mounting holes.
-
It has four resistor networks. Resistor networks can be used for voltage division or for digital/analog conversion.
-
It has one LED.
-
It has one test point. The TP on the DS3800HXMA1G1G is located near the LED.
-
It has fifteen jumper switches. The labels on these jumpers help identify their uses. One jumper is labeled 'test.' Two others are labeled "FAB5/FAB6. A grouping of four are labeled LAB5-LAB8, another grouping of four are labeled FS1-FS4, and the last four are labeled LS1-LS4.
-
It has one aluminum electrolytic capacitor, 8525D
-
Resistors on the DS3800HXMA1G1G tend to be ceramic covered metal film.
-
It is marked 6BA11 on one edge. It is marked A through J on its top edge.
-
It is designed with 35 integrated circuits. These include Dual 4-input DIP components, EPROMs, and oscillators.
The user may find installation guidelines by referencing original manuals and datasheets for the DS3800HXMA1G1G. These were published by GE as part of ongoing technical support.
