The GE Low HP Sequence Board DS3800HSQD1J1E is engineered with 1 hole in each corner to insert screws to secure the board in the drive. The GE Low HP Sequence Board DS3800HSQD1J1E also is populated with 2 40-pin connectors and 1 20-pin connector with retention latches to secure the ribbon cables. The board is also populated with a 50-pin connector and 1 20-pin connector on the surface of the board. The board also is populated with 1 erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) module and 1 amber indicator LED and 8 red indicator LEDs.

The retention levers on the 2 40-pin connectors ensure that the ribbon cables can not be accidentally disconnected. However, they do require some additional information when you connect them or disconnect them. To connect a ribbon cable into the connector with a retention latch, first move the retention latch to the open position and align the connector on the ribbon cable. Use your thumbs to press the connector into position and inspect the connection. If you see spaces between the connectors, press the ribbon cable connector again to ensure a complete connection. Then, lower the retention latches into place.

To remove a ribbon cable, first swing the retention latch free from the connector. Use 1 hand to remove the ribbon cable from the connector. Only pull the ribbon cable out by holding the connector and not by tugging on the ribbon cable. This might damage the ribbon cables and break the control signal connections.
