The DS3800HPCA is a digital pulse circuit board for the Mark IV Speedtronic series by General Electric (GE). The DS3800HPCA is a medium sized board with six EEPROMs and twenty-seven EPROMs. These pieces are responsible for housing all of the DS3800HPCA’s programming data. The EEPROM is not able to be changed while the EPROMs can be updated and re-programmed. The EPROM and EEPROMs are lined up into equal sections, with a metal separator in between each row. One of the DS3800HPCA’s longer edges is labeled A through H and then J with small marks in between each letter. There is one small dark-colored diode and a larger grey diode. The DS3800HPCA also has around forty gold diodes. The DS3800HPCA would get its power supply from the connection terminal on the side. The power is then distributed and or stored on the boards forty resistors. Each resistor can store only a certain amount of energy which is indicated by the colored bands. There are five light emitting diodes or LEDs. One is yellow while the other four are red. There is a small switch in a red case near the yellow LED. The DS3800HPCA installs quickly with two small clips and two small screws. The DS3800HPCA is clearly marked for each component and labeled with where the board was made. The DS3800HPCA also has General Electric’s insignia.
