Description
The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG1C1C is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG1C1C also is populated with 2 red indicator LEDs and 1 amber LED which are visible from the front of the board. The board also is populated with a microprocessor, erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) modules, and a 34-pin connector.
If you determine that the GE Network Controller Board DS3800HMPG1C1C must be replaced, the procedure can be performed quickly due to the fact that the board is equipped with retention levers and modular connectors. However, you must first remove any ribbon cables connected to the board. Use 1 hand to hold the connector on the end of the cable and pull it out of the connector on the board. Notice how the ribbon cable is routed inside the drive before you remove it. When you install the replacement board, route the cable so that cool air is able to flow through the drive and carry away the heat from the components. Special consideration must be applied to the microprocessor to make sure it does not over heat.
When the board is removed from the drive, remove the EPROM module from the defective board and install it in the replacement board. The modules are connected to a socket and are removed by gently prying off the module. The modules snap into the empty socket on the replacement board.
