Description

The GE Digital I/O Board DS3800HIOD is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Digital I/O Board DS3800HIOD also is populated with 2 10-pin connectors and 1 40-pin connector located between the retention levers making them accessible from the front of the board. It also is populated with 6 jumpers.

Once the GE Digital I/O Board DS3800HIOD is locked in the drive by pressing the retention levers, you can install the ribbon cables in the 10-pin connectors and the 1 40-pin connector. The connectors have retention latches that require some special consideration.

To install a ribbon cable, hold the ribbon cable by the plastic connector on the end of the cable. Open the latches on the connector first. Align the ribbon cable with the connector and press it into place. Inspect the connection for gaps and if you see spaces between the connectors, press them together again. This ensures that all pins are connected securely. Then close the retention latches. The retention latches snap to lock the connector once it is fully seated. Route the ribbon cables carefully inside the drive. Route the cables along the wall of the drive to allow for the free movement of air. If there are any power cables in the drive, separate the power cables from the signal cables to reduce the opportunity for interference. When you remove the cable, first open the retention latch, then hold the connector to remove it from the board.
