The GE Fish II Expander Board DS3800HFXB1L1G is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with 1 40-pin connector and 1 34-pin connector between the retention levers. The board also has 1 20-pin connector embedded on the board. The GE Fish II Expander Board DS3800HFXB1L1G also is populated with 1 amber indicator LED. The board is also populated with 2 sockets for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules, and 11 jumpers.

The GE Fish II Expander Board DS3800HFXB1L1G is also populated with 2 trimmer resistors. The trimmer resistors enable a qualified servicer to trim or adjust the resistance provided by the component. The components are also called potentiometers because they can be adjusted. The adjustment is made by turning a small screw on the side of the component.
