Description

The DS3800HDDL is a human-machine interface or HMI for short. The DS3800HDDL is an HMI for the Mark IV Speedtronic Line by General Electric (GE).The DS3800HDDL has fifteen erasable programmable read-only memory or EPROMs. These EPROM hold all the programs for the DS3800HDDL. The EPROM can also be updated and re-programmed as needed. A sixteenth EPROM can be added in a space labeled "SPARE" if more programming space is required. The DS3800HDDL also features fifty individual resistors banded in different colors to show its power capability. There are four capacitors on this board. Two are silver and the other two a dark yellow. The DS3800HDDL also has a series of blue diodes throughout the board. The DS3800HDDL has a series of lights. Forty of them are in strip towers which each indicate a different fault or trip happening within the machine as a whole. The other five indicate that everything is connected. There is also a small RESET button. The operator would press this when the indicated issue has been resolved. In order to connect the DS3800HDDL to the Mark IV system there is a large connection port along the right side, and two grey clips along the left-hand side. The bottom edge of the board is labeled A through I. There is also a small black box which has a small movable wheel inside. This wheel is labeled zero through nine and then goes A through F. There are two windows to see what the dial is turned to.
