Description

The GE Analog Conversion Board DS3800HAIA is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The GE Analog Conversion Board DS3800HAIA also is populated with 2 34-pin connectors between the retention levers. The board is populated with 2 trimmer resistors and 8 jumpers. The board is also populated with 1 socket for an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) module.

The analog/digital converter converts the analog signals to a digital format. The digital format is used for signal processing throughout the drive. The board is also populated with a transistor to transistor logic device. Also included on the board is an EEPROM module socket. The module comes with the original board from the factory. However, if you plan to replace the board, the replacement doesn’t come with a module. That is, the socket is empty. This is intentional because during the replacement, the servicer removes the module from the old board and installs it on the new board. The programming code and firmware will be the same. Different code installed a new module might provide different results and cause problems with the operation of the drive.

However, the code on the module is electronically erasable and can be updated with the latest code. The code is under constant development. As the code is tested by users, errors are reported and fixes are developed to address the problems. Also, features and functions are added to the code. The latest code will include the fixes and improvements.
