Description
The GE Mark IV Printed Circuit Board DS3800HADA1 features multiple pins that are connected through fine wires wrapped around the pins. The GE Mark IV Printed Circuit Board DS3800HADA1 also is populated with 8 jumpers for configuring the board and 1 decoder/demultiplexer component.
When you receive the board from the manufacturer, it comes with wires wrapped around some pins on the board. A knowledgeable and qualified technician can add more wires and remove some of the wires on the board. In this way, the board moves signals to different pins and processes information for different results. This procedure can only be performed while the board is removed from the drive. Place the board on a flat and clean surface. It is best practice to refer to the configuration specifications that come with the board. It describes the pins and how attaching a wire between 2 pins changes the way the board processes.
The configuration information also describes the jumpers on the board and how changing the position of the jumper changes the behavior of the board. The identifiers of the jumper are suffixed with the letter J. The suffix is followed with a numerical value. Only change the position of a jumper when power is removed from the board. Use your thumb and 1 finger to lift up on the jumper to remove it from the pins. Then, align it with the alternate jumpers and gently place it over the pins. To prevent damage, do not force it over the pins.
