Description

GE manufactured the DS3800DLCA1 printed circuit board (PCB) to work within their Speedtronic Mark IV system, which was designed for steam and gas turbine control. In order to minimize downtime due to electronics failure, GE created the Mark IV with built-in intentional redundancies between PCBs that would spontaneously take over for a damaged chipset. This gives the operator time to diagnose, repair and put the damaged PCB back in to service with no loss of service. The DS3800DLCA1 is designed to act as a load comm converter card.

The DS3800DLCA1 has these specifications:

• it is drilled in all four corners of the board. This allows the user one mounting option.

• it has a potentiometer for voltage division/variable resistance. The potentiometer is marked 3069P-1-203, 20A.

• it has one test point ring (TP12,) positioned near the potentiometer on the short edge of the board

• it has one ribbon cable connector marked 218A4559-P22

• it has six (blue) comm connections.The comm connections are placed parallel to the potentiometer. They are individually labeled "BJ1, BJ2, BJ3, BJ4, BJ5, and BJ6. The line of connections is labeled at the top "open com" and at the bottom is labeled "Cov."

• it has three kinds of resistors

• it has five capacitors marked 70801

• it is marked with a triangular logic buffer symbol

• 6BA03

• DLCA

• 6DA02
