Description

The DS3820PSWA is a component for General Electric’s Mark IV series. The MKIV was GE’s third readily available commercial steam and gas turbine management system (predated by the Mark I and Mark II.) The MKIV is built on interconnected microprocessors that continuously and independently monitor the turbine system for issues like high pressure, vibration, loss of flame, and over speed. The MKIV can also automate certain procedures, such as GT protection, startup, control sequencing, speed control, and shutdown.

The DS3820PSWA is designed as a power supply. This is a small board, but due to the use of a tall 300VDC capacitor, it tends to be a vertically heavy board. This capacitor is connected to the board using a collar clamp using multiple screws. There is one other capacitor used on the board; this is a 708A1 polyester vinyl 200V +/- 10% capacitor. The board is built with three resistors. Each resistor is made of different materials than the others. The board has one wire wound resistor (marked 8431 TRW 10W 3K 5%,) one ceramic-covered metal film resistor, and one CCR resistor (carbon composite.) There is one fuse on the board. All smaller components are attached to the board using quick connect screw mounts.

The DS3820PSWA has one transformer attached to the board. This is labeled twice, once on the transformer itself (23V17 pri 117V 50/60Hz) and once on the metal containment block surrounding it (138A1012P1.)

A terminal block populates the lower corner of the board. Most wiring terminates at this point. The terminal block has six double screw terminals on its surface, and while every while that leads to these terminals is black, the ends of the first three wires are colored red, white and blue.

The DS3820PSWA has top hat flanges protruding from each short end. Each has two openings cut for screw mounts. Technical support for this part was provided by GE.

Purchase

Please give us a call or send us an email for pricing on New Surplus and Reconditioned replacements that we have in our inventory. Our lead times are short, stock is excellent, and pricing is competitive. We hope to be your go-to supplier for all GE Turbine replacement boards and controls.

Exchange

We conveniently offer an exchange program that allows you to recycle your old board and receive an up-front discount on a replacement. Please ask about our exchange credit program if you have a defective board to exchange with the purchase of a new or reconditioned replacement. We ask that the defective board is sent in within 30 days of the purchase.

Repair

We offer repair on most GE Turbine boards we sell. Although we usually have replacements available, we recognize that customers may prefer to have their board repaired. Our repair program allows us to offer a lower cost alternative to replacement.
