Description
The DS3820MSAB is a PCB manufactured by GE for the Mark IV series. This series is designed for steam/gas turbine management. It is built on a framework of integrated microcomputers that all work together to monitor the turbine twenty-four hours a day for issues such as loss of flame, over speed, vibration, high pressure, and over temperature. The microcomputers also automate such sequences as startup, speed control, shutdown, and control sequencing.
The DS3820MSAB has modifications built upon a framework starting with a DS3800NASB PCB. The modifications include the installation of a DIN rail system to the original board and the addition of protective cover made of plexiglass. The plexiglass cover connects to the board by five screws that fit into vertical spacer pins. It is worth noting the plexiglass cover has been cut out to leave both transformers on the board uncovered. The DIN rail system also connects by screw mountings. These are placed through the factory-drilled holes at the corners of the board. Spacer pins hold the board off the DIN rails.
The original PCB (DS3800NASB) has fourteen TP test points on the board. It has mating connectors placed on three of its four edges, including four male right-angled PCB mating connectors and three headers with two pins each. These headers mate wiring from the board to the DIN rails. The board also has three transistors (one Motorola NPN 2-pin transistor with heat-sink, plus two smaller transistors,) two trim potentiometers, and seven thermistors. Thermistors lose resistance as they gain heat, and are often used for measurement and control. The board has two transformers and seven integrated circuits.
Technical support for the DS3820MSAB was provided by General Electric. This includes all manuals and datasheets.
Purchase
Please give us a call or send us an email for pricing on New Surplus and Reconditioned replacements that we have in our inventory. Our lead times are short, stock is excellent, and pricing is competitive. We hope to be your go-to supplier for all GE Turbine replacement boards and controls.
Exchange
We conveniently offer an exchange program that allows you to recycle your old board and receive an up-front discount on a replacement. Please ask about our exchange credit program if you have a defective board to exchange with the purchase of a new or reconditioned replacement. We ask that the defective board is sent in within 30 days of the purchase.
