Description

Manufactured by GE, the DS3800NTBJ is a PCB component for the Mark IV series, which is designed for steam or gas turbine management. The Mark IV uses a triple-redundant configuration on critical controls and protection parameters, with a two-out-of-three voting system: three identical sections carry out diagnostics, and if one section fails the turbine will continue to run under control of the other sections. This gives the operator time to service the part with a problem and put it back to work. The Mark IV uses three subsets for these diagnostics identified as <R> <S> and <T.>

The DS3800NTBJ is designed to function as a termination board interface. A termination board is designed to join wires together without resorting to soldering and is often used for wire termination and interfacing. The DS3800NTBJ is built with alignment marking along two edges (numbers and letters,) and has been factory-drilled along its center axis and in all corners.

The DS3800NTBJ has only five components on the surface of the board. This includes two screw terminal adapters with twelve positions on each component. One is labeled TBA and the other is labeled TBB. These adapters correspond to the other components on the board, which are mating connectors. The TBA adapter corresponds to both the JA mating connector, which is a 10-pin vertical male connector and JC, which is a 26-pin vertical male connector. The TBB adapter also corresponds to the JC connector and corresponds to the JB mating connector, which is another 10-pin vertical male connector.

It is worth noting the TBA adapter is numbered from right to left (one through twelve,) while the TBB adapter is numbered from left to right (one through twelve and then again thirteen through twenty-four.)
