Description

The DS3800NTBH1 is a printed circuit board (PCB) made by GE for their Mark IV series. The Mark IV is a control system for steam and gas turbine management that has improved application flexibility and a better operator interface compared to previous GE systems like the MKI and MII. The Mark IV is able to manage such things as speed, startup, temperature, GT protection, control sequencing, and turbine shutdown. Due to the use of distributed control functions among microcomputers, the MKIV experiences significantly less turbine outage than previous systems.

The DS3800NTBH1 is designed as a termination board for the MKIV system. These boards are helpful for wire termination and interfacing. Termination boards can join wires together without soldering. They also may be used to make connections to various small components.

The DS3800NTBH1 is an uncrowded board composed of only five components. The board itself is printed with a top-layer waffle pattern. All through-mounted components are positioned to avoid this layer. Screw mountings on the left and right edges of the board connect DIN rails to the board. Two more screw mountings in the center of the board add support.

The DS3800NTBH1 has two screw terminal adapters attached to its surface. These two adapters are labeled TBA and TBB and are placed parallel to each other. TBA, which is placed on the right side of the board, has seventeen positions that are numbered from top to bottom. TBB is placed on the left side of the board, also has seventeen positions, but is numbered from bottom to top. The board has three mating connectors for communicating with other PCBs.These are all vertical male connectors. They are all individually labeled.
