Description
The DS3800NSCC is a speed current regulator card manufactured by GE for the Mark IV series. The Mark IV is a steam and gas turbine management system with triple-redundant back-ups on critical controls/parameters, which has minimal downtime caused by electronics failure, due to its ability to shift workload to back up chipsets.
The DS3800NSCC has two PCB mating connectors. The first is a 218A4553-1A/mp 533002-1 that is placed on the left edge. The board is numbered from ten to eight by tens behind this component. The other connector is a 218A4637P1 87936-1. This sits on the upper right edge. On this same edge, there are fourteen TP test points and one amber light emitting diode. The LED is labeled “imok.” These corners of the board also have extractor clips. Extractors help protect circuitry and components by giving technicians a handle or a lever point, which aids in placement or extraction of the board while also minimizing how much the actual board has to be handled. The board also has one Augat connector, which is placed near the center of the board.
The DS3800NSCC uses ceramic covered metal film resistors over most of the board. Capacitors tend to be either polyester film or ceramic.
The DS3800NSCC is built with many circuits, including quad differential comparators that can operate from a single power supply from a wide range of voltages.Outputs can be connected to other open-collector outputs to achieve wired-AND relationships.
