The GE Network Control Board DS3800HLNC1A1A is designed for quick installation in the drive. The board features a modular connector on 1 end and retention levers on the other end. The board is populated with 1 40-pin connector between the retention levers. The GE Network Control Board DS3800HLNC1A1A is populated with a microprocessor and 1 amber indicator LED. The board is also populated with 8 sockets for electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) modules and 21 jumpers.

The 40-pin connector on the GE Network Control Board DS3800HLNC1A1A is designed so that an operator can access it while the board is installed in the drive. The connector has retention clips to secure the cable in the connector. To use the retention clips requires that you consider some additional information. To plug a cable into the connector, first, make sure both retention clips are in the open position. Swing the clips over the top of the connector. Then, align the ribbon cable connector and press it into the connector. Swing 1 retention clip over the ribbon cable until it snaps over the connector and locks in place. Then, repeat the process to secure the other retention clip.

Route the cable along the interior wall of the drive. This prevents the cable from blocking air flow which is used to remove the hot air from the interior of the drive. The microprocessor on the board can generate heat that can cause the drive to automatically shutdown. This is called an overheat condition. Before you restart the drive check that the air flow is adequate to remove the heated air.
