Description

The GE Logic Element Board DS3800HLEA1 features a modular connector for attachment to a drive and retention levers to hold the board in the drive. The GE Logic Element Board DS3800HLEA1 also is populated with 10 indicator LEDs that are viewable from the front of the board and 3 jumpers. The board is populated with resistors and capacitors. It also features air dividers to direct the airflow over the components.

Another component on the board is a transistor to transistor logic (TTL) device. It serves as the interface logic between integrated circuits.

The jumpers are the primary means to configure the board. When you install the original board from the factory, a service guide will be included in the shipping carton. Put it aside in a safe place until you need it. Confer with the site engineers and operators to determine how the board must be configured to work best in the drive. Determine if any of the jumpers can be configured to improve the operation of the board for your site. The default settings are how the jumpers come arranged from the factory.

If need be, you can change the jumpers to another position to improve drive processing. Record the jumper settings and store them with the other important information about the drive. If you replace the board, refer to the jumper record and move the jumpers on the replacement board to match the positions on the old board. This ensures that the configurations are the same and the drive will process signals the same with the replacement board installed in the drive.
